Reviews:

This lush and delicious Pinot Noir is a brand new release and very limited production wine from Kukeri Wines, I highly recommend getting some while they last.  A beautiful nose of red cherry, strawberry and warm spice, with a well balanced palate of cranberry, vanilla and baking spice.  This is a composed and elegant bottle of Pinot with soft tannins, balanced acidity and generally gentle profile.  The wine is easy to consume on its own but has substantial acidity and is therefore quite food friendly.  This tasty little number is all about subtlety and nuance, elements that will expand over the next 2-4 years. - DZ May 2017

Why We're Drinking It:

Tasting Notes:

Medium to dark garnet color, and is a wonderful example of a cool climate Pinot Noir. Bright aromas of cherry pie, cloves, and toasted caramel lead into layered flavors of rich Maraschino cherry, oriental spice, and toasty oak on the palate. Medium-bodied, it boasts silky tannins and a pleasantly bright acidity. The wine finishes with lingering notes of spice and vanilla bean.

The Story to Know:

From the Winery

Kukeri crafts wines from some of the most unique vineyards in Napa and Sonoma. We treat that fruit as gently as possible, producing small lots of boutique wines that display the complexity, power, finesse and specific terroir with grapes grown in Mt. Veeder mountain climate.

Kukeri ritual is a tradition that may date back as far as 8,000 years to the ancient Thracians – and to Dionysus, the god associated with wine, fertility, and rebirth. The festival is replete with mystical symbolism, steeped as it is in a tradition representing the cycle of life, death and rebirth.

Perfect Pairings:

This is the perfect accompaniment to any light red meat and grilled salmon dish, or it can be enjoyed alone. - Winemaker David Nakaji
